Take a delicious and wholesome bite into saving our planet!
Team meetings and special workplace gatherings in Brisbane’s CBD can now enjoy great tasting and convenient workplace catering while at the same time help to reduce their environmental footprint with Kitchen Sanitarium’s new workplace catering menu!
Introduced at a special event for Brisbane’s business leaders by Australian cricketing legend Brett Lee, Kitchen Sanitarium’s new catering menu carries the recently awarded Restaurant and Catering Association’s Green Table certification. The accreditation process helped the team recognise how they can “be green” and ensure that they are minimising their environmental footprint.
“Chef Steve Warden-Hutton and his team proactively identified opportunities to reduce energy and water consumption, solutions for composting food scraps, ensuring the use of environmentally friendly consumables and continue their commitment to buy fresh local produce,” says Charlotte Toxward, Brisbane Membership Consultant for the Restaurant and Catering Association.
Kitchen Sanitarium purchases carbon offsets
Additionally, the Kitchen Sanitarium team decided to take energy reduction a step further by purchasing carbon offsets.
“Through the purchase of credible carbon offsets we were able to support sustainable projects in New Caledonia, where 31 windmills spread across six small wind farms supply the island with electricity, reduce reliance on imported energy supplies, and employ local people,” says Kitchen Sanitarium Manager, Dale Williams. “While the carbon credits give us a 20% offset we are pleased to be part of something that really makes a tangible difference in the lives of people."
Taking the environmental footprint a step further is Kitchen Sanitarium’s philosophy of preparing wholesome, delicious plant-based foods created purposefully with good health key to menu choices. All this goodness is conveniently packed and delivered to your workplace either for a lively team breakfast meeting, a special morning or afternoon tea celebration or a healthy lunch time meeting to keep the energy levels high for the afternoon.
The new workplace catering menu features hot and healthy breakfast selections, gourmet sandwich platters, celebration cakes and loads more. It is simple and easy to order workplace catering on line at www.kitchensanitarium.com.au and it will be delivered free to local CBD workplaces*.
