In response to the devastating Queensland floods, Sanitarium’s management spoke with representatives from Foodbank and ADRA (the Adventist Development and Relief Agency to assess how the Company could best offer support to people caught up in the disaster.
As a result, Sanitarium has committed to providing 64 pallets of 750g Weet-Bix and four pallets of So Good with a retail value of $135,000. This food will go to welfare agencies that are “crying out” for supplies to help flood victims in need. The first of two truckloads of Sanitarium products will arrive at the Foodbank warehouse in Brisbane tomorrow (Tuesday).
In response to Sanitarium’s commitment, Foodbank CEO, John Webster, said, “What can I say but thank you. Your generosity will make such a difference to so many families facing extreme hardship now and who will soon face the daunting task of putting their lives back together as they clean up the devastating mess when the waters recede. This will enable us to help them face these challenges.”
