Now in its 14th year in Australia, the Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon, in partnership with BUPA, is the world's largest triathlon of its kind, encompassing 10 events held across the country from January to May.

An estimated 15,000 Australian children and 20,000 New Zealanders will participate in the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon, providing a fun way for kids to experience the benefits of exercise.

Since its inception, more than 100,000 Aussie youngsters have swum approximately 10,000kms (200,000 lengths of an Olympic-sized pool), cycled around 400,000kms (10 times around the world!) and run about 66,000kms (more than five times around Australia!).

Former Iron Man Champion and Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon ambassador, Guy Leech, said the event enabled children of all sporting capabilities to have a try in an encouraging and supportive environment without the pressure of competition.

“Everybody had a fantastic time and it was great to see so many kids getting involved and enjoying a fun day out with family and friends,” said Leech.

“The Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon isn’t about getting the fastest time or winning the race, but is about taking part, having fun and being healthy. Everyone who participates gets a medal and goes home a winner.”

The Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon series inspires children to get moving in a friendly environment where the emphasis is on enjoying the experience as part of an active lifestyle rather than competition.
