Our Philosophy
We respect and celebrate the infinite value created in each of us, by genuinely caring for the health, hope and happiness of every person.
This philosophy is demonstrated through Caring for our Communities: We make a real and lasting difference in our communities by genuinely caring for, supporting and serving others.
Our philosophy and mission is what drives our community care support therefore all successful requests will show a clear fit with the Sanitarium Philosophy.
Our preference is to provide a ‘hand up’ rather than a ‘hand out’ approach to our community support. Each year Sanitarium receives thousands of worthwhile requests, however we are unable to support them all. To help you in your planning for support, below is a list of guidelines that Sanitarium will use to assess any request received.
Guidelines:
-
All donations and community project are allocated to annually selected programs, therefore, we are unable to accept your request for financial support.
-
Sanitarium is owned and operated by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. We recognise the 7th day as a day of rest therefore we do not support events requesting commercial or promotional assistance during the hours of Friday sunset to Saturday sunset (the Sabbath).
-
We strongly consider projects with a healthy, active community focus
-
We aim to build a positive relationship with kids and grocery buyers
-
Sanitarium will not supply showbags nor contribute product to be included in ‘showbags’ where there is no control over what else is included (ie competitors products, products not upholding the ‘healthy’ standard of Sanitarium products).
-
Sanitarium will not support activities/events where there is a conflict with a competitor
-
Sanitarium is the sole cereal and soy milk provider of the Red Cross and its Good Start Breakfast Club program, supplying cereals to nearly 250 schools around the country. Sanitarium will refer any school breakfast club support request directly to the Red Cross for consideration.
Sanitarium will not support the following activities:
-
School fetes, raffles, auctions, chocolate wheels or requests for Sanitarium product resale
-
Sponsorship of individuals
-
Activities outside of Australia
-
Activities associated with gambling
-
Any connection with alcohol, cigarettes or personal combat sports eg wrestling/boxing
