Teams of young people across Australia spend their school holidays in remote regional communities in Australia, living out their motto: “Service To Others Really Matters”. “Painting toilet blocks in local parks, doing gardening for the aged, running kids clubs for local kids, fixing up town buildings is all in a day’s work for our young people,” reports Nick Kross, Youth Director for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Australia.
STORMCo groups have visited to the communities of Meekatharra, Wiluna and Cue since 2004. Shire President, Tom Hutchinson said that for the past three years this community service had involved painting the fences around town to enhance the overall appearance and community pride.
“This year, the team helped to complete a mosaic project that, once finished, will feature on the Police Station building in Main Street,” he said. “The assistance of StormCo in the shire is much appreciated by the community.”
Sanitarium is proud to support STORMCo teams, as we have done for more than six years.
