A variety of papers are considered for inclusion including significant original studies, quality review articles and from time-to-time a classic and pertinent paper.

In addition to the abstract of the paper, the editors often provide a commentary, to place the findings into context and perhaps to identify particular strengths or limitations in the work.

Our Story

Ellen White's inspirational message of good health led to the founding of the Sanitarium Health Food Company. A young Australian woman named Laura Lee worked at Ellen White's home and heard her speak of the importance of healthy living and learnt how to cook healthy foods using natural grains, legumes and vegetables.

It was this experience that inspired Laura to open Australia's first health food shop in Maitland NSW in 1899 where people could purchase the ingredients needed to cook healthful food. Laura's health food shop paved the way for Sanitarium to open a cafe in Pitt Street, Sydney, in 1902. She trained others to educate the community by offering leaflets and conducting cooking demonstrations.

Bringing Good Health to the Community

Laura's enthusiasm for food and health has inspired generations of Australians to enjoy happier, healthier lives. Laura's legacy lives on through the Sanitarium Lifestyle Medicine Services.

Our team of nutritionists and dietitians share Laura's passion for improving the health and wellbeing of our communities. We're also passionate about helping people enjoy healthy living. Our desire is that you enjoy the best of life.
