Rhubarb and Apple Crumble

Rhubarb Apple Crumble

Ingredients

  • 6 green apples, peeled and sliced
  • 3 cups chopped rhubarb
  • 1/3 cup wholemeal plain flour
  • 1/3 cup ground almonds
  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons margarine
  • ¼ cup flaked almonds

Method

  1. Combine apple and rhubarb in a microwave dish. Microwave on HIGH for 8 minutes, then place fruit into an ovenproof dish.
  2. Sift flour into bowl. Add ground almonds, rolled oats and sugar. Rub margarine into flour mixture.
  3. Place rhubarb and apple into small oven dishes. Sprinkle crumble and flaked almonds over apple and rhubarb.
  4. Bake in a moderate oven (180°C) for 40 minutes or until golden.
