To help build our people capability, we have developed and rolled out our second-generation leadership program. Living, Learning & Leading by Values is for all employees and offers learning and development opportunities that are underpinned by our philosophy and values. Individuals take ownership of their learning with the support of their manager.
As an introduction to the values of Sanitarium, all employees are invited to participate in the Living by Values Workshop, within six months of joining the Company. Feedback from the workshops in 2015-16 was 95% ‘excellent’, 5% ‘very good’.
The workshop covers:
- Our values and behaviours
- Our culture; how we measure culture and engagement
- Our feedback mechanisms
- Personal style.
The effectiveness of this innovative program was recognised when it won Best Learning & Development Program at the Australian HR Awards in September 2016. Sanitarium topped the likes of AMP, McDonald’s, the Queensland Government and Lend Lease, while our Head Of People & Culture, Peter Hartnett, who led the team that devised and rolled out the program, was named HR Director of the Year.
