Historically many food manufacturers used palm oil for its ability to help stabilise products and provide texture. However, advances in food science have enabled us to remove palm oil from a number of our products through reformulation.
Where there is no other practical alternative solution to palm oil, we use only Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certified sources on a mass balance or traceable basis. This gives us assurances that the environmental factors are carefully managed in the farming and harvesting of palm oil crops.
In some instances, palm oil is used as part of an ingredient source provided by a supplier. We are continuing to work with our suppliers on ingredients derived from or containing at a micro-level some traces of palm oil.
